I decided to deviate away from my normal regime, in which I analyze five to six pieces of a recent collection from a world-famous designer, in order to honor a very important event that occurred on April 29, 2011: the Royal Wedding of Prince William Arthur Philip Louis and commoner Kate Middleton, who is right now officially titled Princess Katharine. What a day it was! With the gathering of fans on every street to the pomp and ceremony throughout the wedding and events afterward, April 29, 2011 will go down in history.
Now, for anyone out there who can't recall what the faces of England's future King and Queen look like, here is a photo reminder of the happy couple:
http://www.style.com/stylefile/2010/12/the-high-street-princess/
They are certainly an attractive pair! The prince could not have chosen a more beautiful woman to be his wife. Kate's face is undeniably attractive, with her gorgeous eyes, stunning skin, and perfectly white and straight teeth. I also really love her thick, luscious brown hair that always seems to fall perfectly around her face.
Besides having a gorgeous face and hair, Kate has also won the beauty jackpot in her slim, well-proportioned figure. You could argue that Kate always looks good because she has stylists and always dresses so well; but while this is true, a lot of credit for her physical fabulousness can be attributed to her shapely waist, tiny hips, and overall feminine figure.
Now on to my favorite topic concerning the Royal Wedding: Kate's princess-like gown.
http://www.dailynewspaper.us/kate-middleton-wedding-dress-2-129285-123
This dress by Alexander McQueen designer Sara Burton is perfection in white. Speculation about Kate's dress has been going on for weeks, and I really feel that everyone was not disappointed. Stunning in its simplicity, this dress must have made Kate feel like the princess she was to become while wearing it. The lace overlay is the perfect cover-up for her arms, since that is the tradition for royal wedding dresses. The lace is fancy without being tacky or too showy. The perfectly fitted corset emphasizes and compliments Kate's naturally gorgeous figure, while the puffed-out look of the skirt adds magic without being over the top.

I think everyone in the world is in agreement over the simple beauty of Kate's tiara. This tiara (not a crown, as it does not fully encircle her head) is understated yet perfect for a new princess. The veil, covering her face during her entrance to the abbey but then removed during most of the service, adds elegance to the overall look. The earrings are the perfect compliment for this wedding ensemble, and Kate's choice to keep the overall jewelry to a minimum kept the look very classic.
One of the most talked-about accessory Kate has been supporting since the announcement of the engagement is, obviously, the engagement ring.
http://www.glamour.com/weddings/blogs/save-the-date/1116-kate-middleton-engagement-ring-prince-william-princess-diana-close-up_we.jpg
The ring that Kate now wears as a wife has quite a history to it. The ring first belonged to William's mother, Princess Diana. Giving it to Kate was a sign of William's love for Kate as well as being a tribute to his late mother. The ring itself is a large blue stone, a sapphire, surrounded by tiny diamonds. I believe that this ring, which might look too flashy on anyone else, looks beautiful and elegant on the long, slender fingers of both Diana and Kate.
A very famous English fashion tradition that is known around the world is - dare I say it? - the hats. Every female guest of the wedding was required to wear a hat, and everyone used this opportunity to really show off their style!

Queen Elizabeth II showed up in a happy yellow ensemble, sporting a classic hat that was sophisticated and elegant and not over the top.

Tara Palmer Tompkinson (in blue) showed up a bright blue dress by Deborah Milner with matching shoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. Many websites are slamming this ensemble, saying it's too flashy. I disagree! Yes, the blue is bright; but she's attending a wedding! A happy occasion! I actually think she looks elegant in the fitted dress, and I love how well matched the shoes, the hat, the bag, and the gloves are to the dress. Plus, with understated earrings she doesn't look over the top. In my opinion: perfection!
http://bumpshack.com/2011/04/29/david-victoria-beckham-at-royal-wedding-photos/
How elegant can the Beckham couple get? David looks smart and polished in his suit, and his hair is slicked to perfection. Posh looks...well...posh! Her dress is flowy and chic, and her hat is unusual but perfect for her gorgeous face. The tight ponytail merely highlights the glorious hat without distracting from it; and her shoes, with their six-inch heel and super high platforms to match, complete this one-of-a-kind ensemble.
The newly named Princess herself has shown off her impeccable style with a few head adornments of her own. Let's go through a few of my favorites:

Doesn't she always look fabulous and SO fashion forward?
Now, most people don't pay much attention to the groom at the wedding. Everyone wants to see the gown, right? Well, here's a little feature of the one-day King of England on the happiest day of his life:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/royal-wedding-watch/post/prince-williams-wedding-uniform-a-tribute-to-afghanistan/2011/04/29/AFZzQGEF_blog.html
Doesn't he look handsome in the traditional, bright-red military uniform? A classy and very attractive outfit for his big day!
Beauty obviously runs in the Middleton family, because both Kate's mom and sister, Phillippa or "Pippa", looked stunning in their wedding ensembles. Helping the little ones walk into the abbey was only one of Pippa's jobs at the wedding. As Kate's maid of honor, she was the one who was responsible for carrying her sister's train.

Kate's mother also looked classy and sophisticated in her outfit for the wedding.

We all remember (and love) the famous procession that the newlyweds take by carriage, where they wave to all of their adoring fans, as one of the best moments of the wedding day.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1381795/Royal-Wedding-kiss-Prince-William--Kate-Middleton-drive-away-vintage-Aston-Martin.html
I think it's great that the two take the time to ride in the carriage and wave to everyone who is cheering and showing their support for and joy over the marriage.
Well, that pretty much covers the entire wedding. My thanks goes out to all the websites that provided me with the pictures I used in my analysis of this very happy day. My sincerest congratulations to Prince William and Princess Kate, and to the entirety of both of their families. Best of luck to them for a happy and healthy future. Good luck Kate and William; everybody's happy for the both of you! :-)

Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 Collection
The latest collection from Proenza Schouler is a brightly colored, Native American-inspired compilation of many sophisticated outfits. Dresses, pants, jackets, skirts - this collection has it all. Pictures supplied by Vogue.com - visit for full collection
I'll start my analysis with this gorgeous little dress. The colors compliment each other perfectly, and I love how the colors are simple stripes underneath the black designs. This dress, to me, has a very classy Native American vibe to it, which I love, because the Native American style is completely fabulous. The shoes are also very gorgeous, obviously.
This dress would be perfect for any party or special occasion where semiformal attire is required. Simple and classy, this design would really work on any woman's body. I love how the top part is straight and simple, while the bottom is all full of odd angles, adding interest to the outfit.
What makes this dress perfect, in my opinion, is the fact that it almost looks like a top and a skirt that are made of the same material, but I think it's actually a dress. The flounce on the front really makes it stunning, and I love, love, LOVE the colors that comprise the dress. The belt as well is a simple addition that gives the dress a great shape and makes it elegant at the same time.
This fitted ensemble is heaven for the female figure. Straight yet also emphasizing the curves of a woman's body, this dress is one-of-a-kind. I love the warm, bright colors in it, and the Native American vibe in its pattern. The shoes also match it perfectly.
This dress is simply perfection. I love how it seems almost baggy yet has a great shape - how is that even possible? Black dresses are stunning, in my opinion, and this one is no exception. I love its classy elegance and can imagine this ensemble flattering any woman at a fancy office party, or a dinner party with their friends.
I will finish my analysis of this fabulous collection with this glamorous piece. I simply love this gown. The colors are bright and classy and I think they are perfect for brightening up any woman's wardrobe. The length of the dress is interesting, and makes it something that can be worn as a semiformal gown or a formal dress, making it versatile. The belt adds shape to it perfectly, complimenting any woman's natural body type. My favorite part of this dress, however, has to be the top. I love the design and shape of the straps, because it's interesting and gives the dress an almost Grecian feel. The see-through black sleeves underneath make it genius, because it makes it comfortable for women to wear without sacrificing the fashion element. A truly gorgeous piece from a really fabulous collection.
Feel free to comment on this collection and share your opinions. A big thanks to Vogue.com, which provided me with each picture. If you're interested in the rest of this collection, or in anything else fashion-wise, I recommend visiting Vogue.com.

Zac Posen Fall 2011 Collection
Every woman is looking for an outfit that will give them confidence and sophistication. The latest collection from Zac Posen does just that. Fitted, colorful dresses, tops, and pants work together to create a fabulous collection. Pictures supplied by Vogue.com - visit for full collection
This dress is absolutely fabulous. It's simplistic style and color merely emphasize its sophisticated nature. It's also very well-fitted, and would emphasize any woman's natural shape. The shoes, as well, are simple and sophisticated.
This dress would be perfect for any late-night or daytime office party. Black never goes wrong. I really like how the slit at the bottom is a mirror of the slit at the top. It's difficult to have a dress with two slits not look sleazy, but this dress has managed to just look beautiful.
This outfit is really gorgeous. The shape of the skirt is a simple, but natural shape that compliments the woman's body. The shirt is a fabulous shade of green, and the style of it makes it a really interesting shirt. The whole outfit is perfect for any day at the office.
The Zac Posen collection switched from simple, tight-fitted dresses and pants to fabulously flowing gowns. This gown is perfection itself, from its gorgeous shape to its embellished design. The various added textures on the sides of the gown make it one-of-a-kind.
This gown has almost got a Grecian style to it, because of the halter-top. The texture on it makes it fabulous and different, and I love the gray-blue color of it as well. It flows around the model like a waterfall, yet its also fits to her body perfectly.
I decided to complete my analysis of this collection with this dramatic, gorgeous ensemble. The turquoise, flowing gown underneath the cape seems fabulous, even though you can only see a little bit of it. However, it is obviously the black cape that makes this outfit a piece of perfection. Billowing down the runway, the cape takes the entire collection to another world, and is a fabulous, one-of-a-kind piece.
Feel free to comment on this collection and share your opinions. A big thanks to Vogue.com, which provided me with each picture. If you're interested in the rest of this collection, or in anything else fashion-wise, I recommend visiting Vogue.com.

Christian Dior Fall 2011 Collection
One of my favorite things about fashion is that it can truly be an art form. Art that you can wear! That's what the latest collection from the Dior label has been. This was the last collection created by Dior's former designer, John Galliano. The collection epitomized his one-of-a-kind, impeccably made, and fabulously gorgeous style of clothing design. Pictures supplied by Vogue.com - visit for full collection
The runway show started off with a bang with this fabulous outfit. This took my breath away, with the giant cape and the fantastic low-brimmed blue hat. All of the pieces in this remarkable ensemble are perfectly created. I personally adore the boots as well.
This outfit oozes sophistication. The pants are fitted to perfection, and would make any woman's body look good. I also love the green top with the perfectly matched necklace. The reddy-brown of the jacket compliments the green exactly. Overall, this ensemble is perfect for a day in the office.
I really love this outfit. The skirt is simple yet gorgeous, and perfect for a garden party in the spring or for a day at work. I also love the jacket, because it is simple yet beautifully made. The fur on its cuffs is just enough to make it interesting without being over the top. The boots are gorgeous, and the socks perfectly match the pretty necklace. I also can't deny that I love the blue bag!
This outfit as a whole is completely fabulous! The colors compliment each other really well in my opinion. This is absolutely perfect for a warm summer or spring day, because it seems so light and airy. The bag is really cute as well, and I simply ADORE the bright blue shoes!
There's just something about this outfit that captures me. I can't honestly say that it's something that could be worn to the office, although pieces of it worn separately might work. However, this is true art as well. The way that each individual piece of the ensemble corresponds with the others is absolute genius. It has a real sense of flow - each piece fits together like a puzzle. Even the direction in which the scarf falls was probably engineered for ultimate effect and beauty. The colors are great together, and I just want to say that I WANT those shoes and that bag!
This dress is just amazing. Its texture is obviously one of the first things that struck me about it; that interesting, flowy feel that the dress has. Its color is almost unassuming, and the hat is fabulous. The shoes and bag are again gorgeous.
This is such a cute little dress. The maroon color of it looks great against the model's pale skin tone, and the boots and socks match the colors of the dress perfectly. The ruffles make it an interesting texture without detracting from the style of the dress. This is perfect for any party, in the day or at night, and could work for teenagers as well as women in their early twenties.
This dress has a different feel to the last one I critiqued. It would also work for a day or night party, but for women a little older than the last dress. I see women from their early twenties to early thirties working this look, since it is a tad more risqué than the last dress. However, I love this look. The color red definitely calls attention to it, and it really is a sophisticated party option for many women.
I can't even express in words how much I love this dress! Perfect for any spring formal, this dress is exactly what any woman would need for some extra confidence. The color is one that would work for basically any skin tone, and the jewels make it interesting enough that the wearer doesn't even need to worry about a necklace. I love its interesting shape around the bottom, which makes it completely one-of-a-kind. The shoes I obviously love, partly because I'm very passionate about shoes, and partly because these particular shoes are fabulous!
I like outfits that have color patterns like this. See how the color seems to have all dropped to the bottom of the dress? That's what makes this dress so incredible to look at. It's more than just a simple, textured strapless ensemble. It has the color-dropping effect which takes it to the next level. Totally gorgeous.
This was one of those dresses that actually spoke to me when I first saw it. Simple yet classy, this dress has the impeccable quality of all the other dresses from this collection. I love the sparkly bow as well as the flowy tail-like textured material flowing off one side. That makes the dress asymmetrical, which adds interest to it. The shoes are gorgeous. This outfit would work for young girls at spring dances, day or night.
This gown is breathtaking. I love the color, the shape, the intricate designs of the flowers, its drama, and the flowing jacket. This is a show-stopping ensemble, impeccably made, perfectly matched to the shoes and the jacket. I can't imagine where someone would wear such a dress. I imagine it would be perfect for the red carpet at some elite event, or maybe for a princess or a queen! The shoes are, of course, really pretty. I love the entire outfit as a whole.
I decided to complete my analysis of this one-of-a-kind, impeccable, 62-piece collection with this gown. I obviously love the shoes, but the dress also draws my eye, because of its style, color, and impeccable quality. I love the draping of the main body of the dress, because that creates an interesting shape, and I think it would compliment any woman's shape. The ruffles around the bust add a textural effect, and the straps take it back to simplicity. There are so many things "going on" in this dress, yet it doesn't look overdone or too busy. It's just a gorgeous, sophisticated gown.
Feel free to comment on this collection and share your opinions. A big thanks to Vogue.com, which provided me with each picture. If you're interested in the rest of this collection, or in anything else fashion-wise, I recommend visiting Vogue.com.
