Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2014 Couture

I love couture fashion. To me, couture collections are always more like art than clothes. Ready-to-wear is what we live in; couture is what we dream about. Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall 2014 Couture collection is definitely a dream. Pictures supplied by Vogue.com - visit for full collection

I can't get over how much I love this dreamy look. The black tights and boots completely compliment this beautiful coat dress. It's so simple and yet so couture. I could actually see women wearing this look, and yet, when accompanied with the accessories and that fabulous hair, it seems other-worldly.

This look is pure fabulous. And you can tell that the model is totally working it! Leather isn't my favorite fabric, because I think it can go tacky very easily, but it was used so well here to make that fabulous fitted skirt that I actually love it. The juxtaposition of the fitted, slinky skirt with the large, flowy shoulders works perfectly. And making shoulders look flowy as well as structured? Genius.

Normally, I would look at this look and say "Poncho? Really?". But I'm not! I'm saying "Poncho...interesting!". This looks works, and to make a poncho-style jacket look flattering is no easy task, even on a model. Yet the proportion here makes it work; it's a good length, not too long and not too short. I also love the beading and the fabulously large button.

With this look, you could easily take off the head scarf and wear it to work - or even keep the scarf! It's fabulous; a slinky, well-fitted, sexy but still work-appropriate suit with leather shoulders. A solid yes.

I had to include this look simply for the collar. I mean, look at it. That is one of the most fabulous collars I've ever seen in my entire life. I love it.

What a cute dress! I love the use of fabric here; I never would have thought that putting together tulle, velvet, lace, white mesh, and leather would have worked. But it does. It's perfection.

Aside from the fabulous mix of fabrics and awesome make-up and hair, just look at that skirt. It's fabulous.

This jacket is absolutely beautiful. The tribal-esque pattern is incredibly in fashion right now, and I have to say, this is one of the best executions of it I've seen. It's subtle and elegant.

I love the way the red and black seem to mix together and yet neither is muddled. Also, the mix of fabrics has made another fabulous appearance!

Almost Grecian in its draping, the flow of this dress is both elegant and extremely sexy. And the spikes? Dangerously fabulous.

This gorgeous gown takes us place in time, to a time filled with decadence and grace. Are we in the Renaissance right now?

This dress is extremely sensual and yet also invokes a feeling of danger. The perfect outfit for any femme fatale!

Look at that skirt. It is perfection. Simply perfection.

The collection concludes with this beautiful, ethereal, angel-like ensemble. Light, flowing, and complete with wings, this is the perfect finale piece to a wonderful and fantasy-filled collection.
